Carlos Avenancio
Assistant Professor of Finance
UC San Diego & NBER
I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of California - San Diego, Rady School of Management. I am also a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) in the Law & Economics and Political Economy programs.
My agenda focuses on the relationship between Power and Economic Inequality, and it draws on diverse fields including finance, law, and political economy. More specifically, I have worked on understanding power and inequality within property taxation, housing markets, voting rights, campaign finance, criminal justice, labor markets, collective bargaining, corporate finance, and household finance.
I currently teach Real Estate Markets to graduate students at UC San Diego’s Rady School of Management.
I received my Ph.D. in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley, and my J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico. You can find my CV here.
